Amber Favorite is the creative genius behind A Favorite Design, a letterpress shop here in Chicago. While the work she creates leaves me in jealous awe, she needed some help when it came to revamping her website. That’s where we came in.
Visually, the old A Favorite Design website had a solid foundation from which to build. We kept all of it: the wood floors, the notebook paper, the masking tape, the love of American Typewriter and just remade all the graphics to better fit the browser window. Then we helped Amber re-work the site architecture, build in an e-commerce solution so she could easily sell her beautiful creations from her own site and laid down a solid Content Management System on the back end to make it as simple as possible for her to maintain the site so she could spend more time printing and less time typing.
The result? Amber got to keep her studio’s visual identity while making it much easier for her fans and customers to shop on the site. Orders are up and she’s spending far less time trying to add new items (and is adding them while they’re still new).
